Tasted on January 1, 2025 by J.S: "A perfect Yquem again after the 2021, fresher and more refined than the 2022. May The perception of sweetness is very dense. Lots of botrytis, with turmeric, saffron, cream, toasted meringue, pine nuts, spices and dried mango. This is a powerful, seductive, lush wine. It's more ornate and richer this year than in 2021, but there's plenty of charm and harmony. Long and spicy, with a hint of petroleum on the finish. A wine of unprecedented richness. The second most concentrated Yquem after 1945, according to the winemaker. Around 160 grams of residual sugar. Very affordable today, but even better in five or six years. It will live forever.

 Terroir

 The vineyard of Château Yquem has 113 hectares of vines. The terroir is at the highest altitude of Sauternes, which gives it a unique microclimate. The microclimate is critical, as it allows the easterly winds to move through the vineyard, helping to eliminate unwanted excess moisture, especially later in the growing season when noble rot sets in.

 Service

 It can be enjoyed young, although it should be decanted for at least one hour before drinking. The recommended serving temperature is between 10°C and 12°C. For the more experienced wine lovers, you can push the tasting experience over several days, in order to appreciate and follow the wine in its evolution.

It will be a wonderful accompaniment to a good fresh, slightly acidic lobster or a royal langoustine in a cream and lime sauce.
