Located in Maimbray (in the commune of Sury-en-Vaux), Domaine du Pré Semelé—managed by brothers Julien and Clément Raimbault—is an essential benchmark within the Sancerre appellation.
Regarded as the estate’s exceptional red cuvée, "Camille" pays tribute to the expertise of the Raimbault family and the nobility of Pinot Noir within the Sancerre terroir. Sourced from a rigorous selection of plots on well-exposed clay-limestone slopes, this wine is hand-harvested and undergoes an extended aging process in oak barrels, which imparts structure and complexity while preserving the elegance of the fruit. In the glass, it reveals a deep, brilliant ruby hue. Its highly intense aromatic bouquet harmoniously blends ripe dark fruits—such as Morello cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant—with notes of peony, delicate spices, and subtle hints of toasted oak and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is generous and concentrated, featuring silky, exceptionally refined tannins, underscored by a mineral freshness that ensures a superb finish. This distinguished, age-worthy red is an ideal pairing for a dry-aged cut of beef, a roasted rack of lamb, or game birds.
