Certified organic viticulture / Organic wine / Direct from the estate
93/100 James Suckling
"A deep nose with aromas of black fruit, black plums, sweet spices, and subtle notes of tar. A medium- to full-bodied wine with fine tannins and beautiful fruit expression, offering a long, flavorful, and peppery finish. Made from organically grown grapes. Drink now or cellar."
2023
For the 2023 vintage, the blend is composed of 50% Mourvèdre, 25% Syrah, and 25% Grenache, a trio that creates a powerful and harmonious balance.
Grape varieties: "L'Ebrescade" is made from a rigorous selection of vineyard plots. The grapes come from the eponymous vineyard site, as well as from Ridel and Combe d’Henry, three locations situated on the upper slopes of the Ventabren hill in Cairanne.
Vines and Yields: The vines are remarkably old: approximately 70 years for the Syrah, and 40 years for the Grenache and Mourvèdre. They flourish on the high slopes between Cairanne and Rasteau, an area whose highest point, L’Ebrescade, reaches 327 meters in altitude and rests on complex sedimentary deposits.
Yields are intentionally very low, in the range of 12 to 15 hl/ha, in order to maximize the concentration of the wine's character and the expression of the terroir.
Aging: The entire blend is aged in demi-muids and foudres for 24 months. The bottles are then stored in an underground cellar at a stable temperature until they are released for sale.
It has an aging potential of 10 to 15 years.
