Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru Grande Montagne 2022 - Louis Jadot
93/100 James Suckling
Tasting Opinion January 24, 2019: "This wine offers a range of wet stone and limestone aromas with young peaches and flecks of yellow citrus. The palate has a smooth range of fleshy, supple peaches, finishing with light spice and hazelnut notes. Drink it or keep it."
- 100 % Chardonnay
- LOCATION: Located in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet is one of the 5 villages of the prestigious "Côte de Blancs". Exposed to the east and southeast, the soils of the first white growth are mainly brown clay and limestone. Chassagne Montrachet produces 70 hectares of premier cru.
- VINEYARD INFORMATION: "Located on the hillside, south of the commune, "La Grande Montagne" is not far from "Cailleret", "Grandes Ruchottes" and "La Romanée", on a clay-limestone soil.
- VINIFICATION AND MATURATION: "The grapes are harvested by hand and put in small crates so as not to damage the fruit. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented in oak barrels produced by our cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on the lees before bottling.
