Ladoix Les Marnes Blanches 2023 - Faiveley
The estate's Marsannay vines are planted on the edge of the forest, an environment that fosters cooler climatic conditions and a naturally late ripening cycle. This setting preserves the aromatic freshness of the grapes while allowing for gradual and balanced maturation. The soils, composed of marl, clay mixed with pebbles and gravel, bring structure, aromatic intensity, and depth to the wine, contributing to its rich and persistent character.
Covering a total area of 1.83 hectares, the plot includes vines planted in 1958, 1960, 1977, and 2002, offering a beautiful balance between old vines and more recent additions. On the palate, this Marsannay reveals an expressive bouquet dominated by ripe red fruits, supported by notes of fresh plum. The palate is ample and structured, supported by generous and well-integrated tannins that linger on the palate with intensity. It is best served at around 15-16°C after a light aeration to fully appreciate its complexity. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, roast poultry, or stews, and can age gracefully in the cellar for several years.
