"The 2014 Único was made from grapes from 40 hectares of vines selected from the estate's 210 hectares. The grapes were harvested between September 20 and October 3, and the blend was composed of 94% Tinto Fino and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation took place in oak vats with indigenous yeasts, with malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The first part of the aging took place in 225-liter barrels and the second in 20,000-liter oak vats. The aging lasts 10 years between barreling and bottling. This is a vintage that combines power and elegance; it is concentrated yet subtle. I had the unique opportunity to taste it in magnum a few years ago. a year and I was really impressed. This tasting was in perfect harmony with these sensations. 2014 was a good vintage in the area, with good rainfall and an abundant harvest. Less powerful than 2012 or 2015, but very fine. The wine is very balanced, less alcoholic and with integrated oak, crisp, fresh and still young. It is quite classic; it is fine, elegant but also powerful, closer to the Únicos of yesteryear. It is undoubtedly one of the greatest vintages of recent years. It has an alcohol content of 14%, a pH of 3.85 and an acidity of 5 grams of tartaric acid per liter.
