Sancerre Blanc 2025 Mainbré - Domaine du Pré Semelé
From the estate
Sancerre Blanc "Les Mainbrés"
The "Les Mainbrés" cuvée embodies the pure, taut, and crystalline expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the iconic terroir of Sury-en-Vaux. Sourced from plots planted on "terres blanches" (Kimmeridgian clay-limestone) soils, this wine is the result of meticulous viticulture and precise aging on fine lees—a process that adds richness to the wine’s texture without ever diminishing its inherent brilliance. In the glass, it displays a pale yellow hue with greenish highlights, revealing a nose of great finesse dominated by aromas of fresh citrus (grapefruit, lime), hazelnuts, and white flowers, underscored by a vibrant, flinty mineral note. On the palate, the attack is crisp and energetic, unfolding into a finely sculpted structure supported by ripe acidity and a remarkable salinity on the finish. This exceptional white wine from the Loire Valley is an ideal pairing for a seafood platter, grilled fish, or a Crottin de Chavignol goat cheese.
One of the finest estates in Sancerre.
Located in Maimbray (in the commune of Sury-en-Vaux), Domaine du Pré Semelé—managed by brothers Julien and Clément Raimbault—is an essential benchmark within the Sancerre appellation.
