Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru Chenevottes 2022 - Louis jadot
From the wine estate
Côte de Beaune – Maison Louis Jadot
Grape Variety: Chardonnay
Serving Temperature: 16–17°C
Aging Potential: 10 years or more, or up to 15 to 20 years depending on the vintage
Geographic Location
Located in the southern Côte de Beaune, the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation is one of the five villages of the famous "Côte des Blancs." The "Les Chenevottes" climat is located on slopes facing east and southeast, benefiting from soils composed primarily of clay and limestone.
Terroir Characteristics
The vineyard overlooks the valley separating Mont Rachet from the village of Chassagne. Planted on shallow, very stony soil, it provides ideal conditions for producing great white wines that are both elegant and expressive.
Vinification and Aging
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates to preserve their quality. After gentle pressing, the juices are fermented in oak barrels produced by the house's cooperage, approximately one-third of which are new. Aging takes place for 15 months on fine lees before bottling.
