Terroir and Origin
The Fixin 1er Cru Clos du Chapitre – Louis Jadot comes from a renowned vineyard located in the commune of Fixin, in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits. This historic vineyard rests on clay-limestone soils that are perfectly suited to Pinot Noir. The terroir gives rise to structured and expressive wines, which combine the typical power of Fixin with beautiful finesse.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted to preserve the quality of the fruit. Fermentation takes place in tanks with controlled maceration to extract color, aromas, and tannins. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 15 to 18 months, which adds complexity and depth while respecting the expression of the terroir.
Style and Tasting Notes
This Premier Cru presents an intense nose of red and black fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by spicy and slightly woody notes. On the palate, it offers a solid structure with elegant tannins and lovely freshness. The long, harmonious finish makes it an ideal wine to accompany red meats, game, or stews.
