Maranges Red Vieilles Vignes 2022 - Vincent Girardin
Vincent Girardin's Maranges Vieilles Vignes comes from the Dezize-les-Maranges vineyard, on clay-limestone soils. The Pinot Noir vines, averaging 45 years old, are carefully cultivated to preserve the authentic expression of the terroir and the quality of the grapes.
Winemaking relies on hand-harvesting with rigorous sorting of the bunches. After cold maceration and controlled fermentation, the wine is aged for twelve months in oak barrels, approximately 30% of which are new. This method brings complexity and elegance while respecting the character of the fruit.
On the palate, this Maranges offers a rich and generous profile, dominated by ripe black fruit. Its structure rests on fine, supple tannins that provide balance and a luscious character. It pairs perfectly with poultry, veal tenderloin, grilled or sauced red meats, and game.
