Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2023 Altitude - Boris Champy
Great Burgundy wine - Organic wine - Organic farming
94/100 - James Suckling
Stuart Pigott - Senior Editor
A remarkable Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune, both concentrated and full of freshness. This wine dazzles with its complexity, blending red fruit, undergrowth and wet earth. On the palate, aromas unfold with generosity and elegance. Already irresistible to drink today.
Produced from the “Bignon” and “Clos” plots, vinified together, this wine is made from Demeter-certified biodynamically grown grapes.
Drink now or cellar for a few years.
What the estate has to say :
VINEYARD MANAGEMENT
The vineyards are mainly planted with traditional low-growing vines (10,000 vines/ha, single Guyot pruning) and partially with double Guyot pruning.
VINIFICATION AND AGEING
Hand-picked at optimum ripeness.
Vinification: gentle extraction, 50% whole harvest, in wooden casks.
Aging: 12 months on average, including 15% new oak.
