The Maison Delamotte is the fifth oldest champagne house. It was founded in Reims in 1760 by François Delamotte, owner of the vineyards.

In 1988, Charles' elder brother, Bernard de Nonancourt, bought Champagne Delamotte and integrated the House into the Laurent-Perrier group. Also in 1988, Champagne Delamotte sees its destiny associated with that of the prestigious Champagne Salon, within the mother company Laurent-Perrier, the largest independent Champagne group. Today and since 1997, Champagne Delamotte, sister house of Champagne Salon, is also managed by Didier Depond.
